‘Fani’ aftermath: Railways to carry relief material free of cost

Ajmer: Indian Railways is transporting relief material to cyclone ‘Fani’ affected states of Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh through coaching and goods trains free of cost.

Senior Public Relations Inspector of North Western Railway Ajmer Division Ashok Kumar Chauhan Wednesday said that under social concern, relief material will be transported to the cyclone-affected areas.

All government organisations, within the jurisdiction of Central Railways can book relief material free of cost to the affected states, he added.

The facility is being provided till June 2.

Besides loss of human lives and livestock, Fani left behind a trail of destruction that included damaged houses, uprooted trees and electricity poles.
