Fee to be charged for Aadhaar enrolment

Bhubaneswar: The state government has decided to charge fees for enrolment of Aadhaar cards at all centres entrusted with the task.
“As the enrolment agencies are charging fees whimsically, we have fixed a rate for various services during Aadhaar enrolment. Now, no one can charge more than the prescribed fee,” said electronics and information technology department special secretary RN Palai Friday.
As per a notification issued by the electronics and information technology department, applicants willing to know the status of their Aadhaar cards have to pay a fee of Rs 5. For printing of an e-Aadhaar card, a person needs to pay Rs 10 per a card.
Similarly, the agencies will charge Rs 25 for printing Aadhaar card on PVC card, Rs 5 for finger detection, Rs 5 for updating mobile and e-mail and Rs 10 for query on loss of UID provided after Aadhaar enrolment.
However, there will be no charge for new enrollment and mandatory biometric update for children in 5-15 age group.
The government has taken the decision after a directive issued by the department of electronics and information Technology (Deity) of Union ministry of communication and information technology.
