Bhubaneswar, Feb 7: The India Meteorological Department Saturday predicted light rain and thundershowers over a few pockets of the state from February 12 that might extend up to February 14.
There is a possibility of a trough line forming over the state around February 12, Met director Sarat Sahu said. “A trough line might form over the state around February 12 that might trigger light rain and thundershowers over a few pockets of the state. The temperature will rise from February 15,” he said.
“Parts of north and coastal Orissa might witness rain, while other parts of the state will remain dry,” said the director.
Most parts of the state have already started witnessing a rise in temperature with the mercury reaching around 30 degree Celsius over most parts of the state, even as the minimum temperature fluctuated at the same places in the past 24 hours.
The weatherman also predicted cloudy skies for the capital city and the adjoining areas in the next 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperature may remain around 29 and 15 degree Celsius, respectively, Sunday.PNN
