Jagatsinghpur: Four members of a family were charred to death following a fire mishap inside their house at Banapata village near Kujanga in Jagatsinghpur district Sunday night.
The deceased were identified as Nabaghana Sahu, his wife Kamala Sahu, their daughter Rubina and son-in-law Harekrushna Mallik.
While Nabaghana, Kamala and Harekrushna died on the spot, Rubina who sustained critical burn injuries was rushed to the Kujanga hospital. But she breathed her last while being shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Rubina, while undergoing treatment at Kujanga hospital, reportedly said that the incident happened when her husband Harekrushna set the house afire but he also died while trying to escape.
The fire personnel reached the spot and doused the flames.
