Rourkela: A four-year-old boy was killed in his sleep by an elephant that pulled down the house and trampled him under his feet Thursday night. The incident was reported from Kukerama panchayat under Nuagaon block in Sundargarh district.
Locals were agitated over the incident. They alleged that the forest department was not taking any step to check recurrence of such incidents.
A herd of three elephants had destroyed many houses in the same locality Thursday night after which forest officials rushed to the spot and drove away the herd.
