Gamle Appliances eyes Rs2.5 crore biz from state

Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: The first exclusive outlet for leading kitchen appliances brand Gamle Appliances, produced by Orange Crow International, has opened at
Patia here.
“We are expecting a business turnover of Rs2.5 crore in the state by March 2019 and Rs20 crore pan-India. The target will be met on the back of strengthening retail footprint in the state as well with capital expenditure of Rs1 crore for branding set for next year,” Sanjeev Dayal, MD & CEO of Orange Crow International, said. He added that the company hoped to open three more ‘Gamle World’ outlets in the state by March 2019. Of the three, one more will be opened in Bhubaneswar; the other two will be in Rourkela and Berhampur.
The company, which had started operations in the East with Guwahati expects to cover the region by end of next fiscal. The company also plans to start operations in Bengal. “We are planning to start an exclusive showroom in Guwahati and will reach 20 outlets across the country by December 2019,” Dayal said.
According to him, the kitchen appliances market which includes chimneys, hobs, built-in ovens, microwave ovens and dishwashers among other things, stands at Rs600 crore to 750 crore (organised players). The market size in the state, he said, was Rs60 crore to Rs65 crore and will rise with rising demand. He said the market is expected to grow at 25 per cent to 30 per cent during 2017-2022.
