Berhampur: The intelligence wing of the Excise department Friday seized an auto-rickshaw loaded with cannabis near Kalasandhapur Chowk in Aska. A person identified as Pramod Kumar Nayak (34) has been arrested in this connection by the Excise sleuths headed by Sub-Inspector Kuber Sethi during a routine check.
According to the Excise team, the three-wheeler bearing registration number OD 32 C 9639 was carrying 150 kg of cannabis smuggled from Phulbani area. The value of the contraband and the vehicle would be worth Rs 16,50,000, said Sethi. A case has been registered and the accused was forwarded to court, Friday
