Ganjam admin begins health screening of COVID recovered patients

Berhampur: Health screening of COVID-19 recovered patients in Ganjam district has started from Thursday, Berhampur sub-divisional magistrate said in a tweet.

The tweet also informed that the recovered patients are being motivated to donate their plasma so that lives of other infected persons can be saved.

The screening will continue till August 26.

About the screening drive, Ganjam district collector Vijay Amruta Kulange Wednesday informed in a tweet that it is being carried out to find out if they have any health issues such as breathlessness and body pain.

During this survey, AYUSH doctors, ANMs, Anganwadi and Asha workers will visit the houses of recovered persons. They will collect data about recovered persons and if they show symptoms of COVID-19, they will be immediately admitted to COVID hospitals, it was learnt.

Worth mentioning, Ganjam reported its first recovery May 2.

Notably, Ganjam district reported 226 fresh COVID-19 cases Thursday, taking the district’s tally to 15,724. Of them, while 13,408 patients have so far recovered from the disease while 2,142 patients are still undergoing treatment. Four persons died of the disease in last 24 hour taking COVID-19 death toll in the district to 166. Eight patients have so far died due to reasons other than coronavirus.
