Purushottampur: The priest of Radhakrishna temple at Naitada Sahi of Purushottampur in Ganjam district was electrocuted to death Monday.
Rabindranath Sahoo (60) of Kolasingi village had been working as priest at the temple for many years.
He had completed the rituals and performed puja at the temple early this morning. He was electrocuted after coming in contact with a live electrical wire which had snapped and fallen from an electric pole.
Even though he was rushed to Purushottampur community health centre, doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.
Rabindra was earning a living for his daughter-in-law and granddaughter after his son’s death.
The locals have demanded compensation for the kin of the deceased.
