Paralakhemundi: Two persons died and one is in critical condition reportedly due to inhalation of toxic exhaust gases released by a generator. The incident took place in Gajapati district’s Betarasing village, a source said Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Ganesh Nayak (18) and Ambika Nayak (12). Another person, identified as Jhumuri Nayak is in serious condition. She has been admitted to Chandragiri Community Health Center in Gajapati district.
According to Madhab Nayak, the grandfather of the deceased duo, as many as four persons were sleeping inside a room last night while the generator was on. He suggested that gas produced by the device could have led to the deaths.
A probe has been launched in this regard by Chandragiri police.
