Angul: Police Wednesday arrested a man from Ghana at Angul railway station for attempting to fleece Rs 18 lakh from a pediatric doctor of Sardar Ballabh Vhai Patel Post Graduate Institute of Paeditrics on the promise of providing a machine. The medical instrument was to be used at his clinic at Tala Telenga Bazaar.
SDPO Harihar Pani told a presser that Ncolas Karsab (44), a citizen of Ghana, had taken Rs 18 lakh from doctor Mangal Charan Murmu. Nicolas was trying to flee with the money, but was arrested at the station.
Police seized Rs 18 lakh and his passport from him. Nicolas came to India in October 2018 on a tourist visa. A case was registered against him.
