Balasore: A 22-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging at Samalpur village under industrial police limits here for unknown reasons Monday.
The deceased was identified as Manasi Giri (22), third daughter of Ramesh Chandra Giri in Bankisahi village under Nilagiri block in the district. Police rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to the district headquarters hospital and registered a case.
A suicide note with a message ‘I am very sorry’ was recovered from her clenched fist. She was staying with her cousin Sasmita, a homeopathic doctor at her Samalpur house and helped her in dropping and bringing back her son from school.
The matter came to the fore when Sasmita’s father visited her house and raised an alarm after he found Manasi hanging.
