Bhubaneswar, June 5: Cuttack girl, Padmalaya Nanda, created history by winning three mega titles at Little Miss Universe 2017 beauty pageant at the port city of Batumi in Georgia, Europe. The 12-year-old girl bagged the prestigious Golden Crown Little Miss Universe Internet 2017, Little Miss Universe Grand Prix and Little Miss Actress (popularly known as Best Talent of the world) awards at the international beauty contest. Though she failed to fetch the Little Miss Universe 2017 title, her achievement in three categories has brought fame to the city .
She is now eying for the crown at Little Miss World 2017 scheduled to be held in Greece. Miss Dayna Alimbayeva of Kazakhstan won the Little Miss Universe 2017 title. Nanda informed Orissa POST that she was proud of her achievement. “I want to thank you all for your love and support,” she said.
Padmalaya got sixty percent of her votes from America and Europe. She had performed sambalpuri dance in one of the rounds. Padmalaya is the daughter of Prasanna Nanda, a lawyer, and Subhasudha Priyadarshini. She had qualified for the Little Miss Universe after winning the title of Little Miss India organised by Junior Model International in Kerala. She was first from north eastern and eastern India to qualify for the event.
