Bhubaneswar, April 16:The Orissa and West Bengal combo of Rutuparna Choudhury and Yubrani Banerjee emerged champions in the U-16 girls’ doubles event of the AITA-OPTTA Tennis Championship at the KIIT courts here Thursday. Coming from a set behind, Rutuparna- Yubrani saw off the challenge of K Bhargavi and Bhavya Ramineni 4-6, 6-2, (10-5) to clinch the title.
Second seed Orissa duo of Abhishek Mohapatra and D Aryan Swamy emerged champions in the U-12 boys’ doubles event, prevailing over top seed Shreejit Sen and Leston Vaz of Maharastra 6-3, 6-2.
