BHUBANESWAR: The last season of one of the most popular TV series of all times Game of Thrones will be aired April 14. Fans worldwide had started the guessing game for the list of possible outcomes before a while. City fans too are perplexed as to how their favorite fantasy work will pan out in its eighth season.

Orissa POST interacted with city fans to delve deeper into their expectations from the series which has been derived George R. R. Martin’s fictional work.

Sriram Singh Rattan, a die-hard fan of the show, said, “Game of Thrones is much more than a TV series for us. It’s a huge part of the pop culture spanning eight seasons and seven books, two of which haven’t been published. The world created by George RR Martin has found praise from all corners of the globe and his story telling and characterisation has resonated with a cross section of diverse audiences. The final season would only have 6 episodes of 90 minutes each. Millions are waiting for the epic fantasy saga to unfold and see how it ends. Finally, Winter is here and the fans remember.”

Sindura Rout said, “This season will finally tell us who will sit on the iron throne. It would also tell us about who survives till the end. The hype and excitement surrounding the greatest TV show of all time can’t be described in words.”

Kirti Patnaik said, “Expected the unexpected in Game of Thrones. If George R R Martin keeps the tradition of the series intact, most of the chief characters like Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, Cersei Lannister and Jaime Lannister would die. No matter what we think or want there are quite a few surprise deaths for us in store.

A great character turning into the night king or queen is a great possibility. Another possible outcome is more straightforward. The long night would lead everyone into battle with everyone dying in the end. This would put constant warfare for the seven kingdoms to an end. Jon Snow will apparently learn his true identity in the final season.

His relationship with the dragon queen after the revelation would be something to watch out for. Jamie Lannister, the twin brother of Cersie Lannister, was seen leaving for the north in Season 7. This would surely alter his relationship with the current queen of the seven kingdoms Cersie Lannister.

City cafes and restaurants too have geared up for this one. Sheikh Samir of Wrap Up said, “Like every year, we will celebrate screening of the season’s first episode by designing our interiors. It will have a special corner titled ‘All Men Must Dine’—a modification of the famous GOT dialogue ‘All men must die.’ The café will serves regular food items. However, there would be a difference in the presentation of the items.”

The dishes will be named after important characters or events in the show. Some of these items are Valhar Bolognese noodles, Fire and Ice-cream, Red Wedding cupcakes , Hound’s fried chicken, Kings layer Panini Sandwich, and chicken little finger. The café has flags of the houses like Stark, Arryn, Baratheon, Tully, Greyjoy, Lannister, Tyrell, Martell and Targaryen.
