Govt okays Master System Integrator

Bhubaneswar: Master System Integrator (MSI), the backbone of Bhubaneswar Smart Solutions Project, has been approved.
The MSI is meant for integrating services like smart traffic management, parking management, city Wi-Fi, emergency response system, integrated city operations and management system, smart tracking management system for multi-modal transport and city surveillance under the Smart City proposal.
Other components include environmental monitoring sensors, e-governance of city agencies, improvement of health centres and schools through technology, integration with the common payment card, etc. The Smart Solutions project will ensure delivery of citizen services in an efficient and effective manner.
As part of Bhubaneswar Smart City programme, the state government intends to transform city governance and public service delivery by leveraging technology. To achieve this goal, the Orissa government has approved Bhubaneswar Smart Solutions Project.
To achieve this goal, the state government has approved the Smart Solutions Project, which will be executed over a period of 24 months from the date of signing of contract. The project will require a capital expenditure of about `350 crore.
The contract will also provide for operation and maintenance of the systems for a period of seven years from the date of commissioning of the entire system at an operational expenditure of `235 crore. The total project cost, therefore, is estimated at `585 crore.
