Bhubaneswar: Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, who is also the State Coordinator of the ‘Seva Sankalp’ campaign, said the state government would establish ‘Seva Setu Kendras’ in every block and Assembly constituency to provide citizens with information, registration and application assistance for various government schemes and services at a single location.
The campaign will be conducted across the state from October 1 to 10 as part of the ongoing ‘Seva Sankalp’ campaign, aimed at ensuring simple, swift and accessible delivery of government welfare schemes and services to eligible beneficiaries. Mahapatra said the initiative would help eligible citizens access information on Central and state government schemes and complete registration, application and other formalities at one place. “Extensive arrangements have been made across the state to ensure that government services reach people at their doorstep and eligible beneficiaries are effectively linked with welfare schemes,” Mahapatra said.
Organised under the theme “From Citizen to Beneficiary-All Services at One Place”, the initiative will focus on identifying eligible citizens and facilitating their access to schemes and services for which they qualify, he added. Seva Setu camps, the minister said, will be organised at the block level within each Assembly constituency, where citizens will receive information and assistance relating to relevant Central and state government schemes and services. They will also be assisted in registering as beneficiaries and completing application procedures wherever required.
Mahapatra said the initiative was aimed at intensifying public outreach and ensuring that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach the last person in society. He said the government sought to create “a new environment of service in every block, panchayat and village of Odisha”, strengthen its bond with the people through service and accelerate development through public participation. The ‘Seva Setu’ campaign, an integral part of the ‘Seva Sankalp’ programme being observed from September 17 to October 17, will provide information, registration facilities, application support and other assistance relating to various government schemes and services at a single location from October 1 to 10.
A detailed programme calendar has been prepared for each Assembly constituency and block to ensure smooth implementation of the campaign. Necessary arrangements have also been made for the appointment of nodal officers, preparation of databases of eligible beneficiaries, inter-departmental coordination at the camps, and deployment of required human resources and logistics.
