Bhubaneswar: The state government mopped up Rs 3,902.58 crore non-tax revenue till October end out of its target of Rs 9,013.56 crore for the current fiscal. This works out to realisation of 43 per cent of the total target. The balance Rs 5,110.98 crore will be mobilised in remaining five months of the current fiscal.
Finance minister Pradip Amat said the government had set out to collect Rs 1,093 crore from dividends by the end of 2015-16 fiscal. However, till October end it could collect just Rs 28.43 crore.
There has been a slowdown in collection of revenue from mining sector as well. While the government aimed to receive Rs 6,626.17 crore from mining, the collection from this sector till October end is only Rs 2,944 crore.
Besides, revenue from interest receipts, water cess, water supply and sanitation tax, forest and wildlife tax and other non-tax sectors has also not registered substantial improvement, the minister said.
Amat said the government has set a Rs 480 crore target from industrial water cess for 2015-16 out of which it has collected Rs 280 crore by October end.
However, the government claimed to have achieved a 9 per cent growth in realization of non-tax revenue collection this year compared to the corresponding period a year ago.
The state government has projected a consolidated revenue receipts of Rs 70,940.50 crore in the current financial year while Rs 12,800.38 crore will be borrowed from the open market. Till October end, its total receipts added up to Rs 36,245.43 crore that worked out to 42.9 per cent of the total revenue receipt target.
