Talcher: In a shocking incident, an 85-year-old man was ruthlessly stabbed to death by his own son and grandson for money at Santhapada village under this block in Angul district late Saturday night.
Subsequently, the accused duo gouged out the victim’s eyes after killing him, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Gaura Nayak, father of the accused Gadadhara Nayak (50) and grandfather of Gadhadhara’s son Debabrata Nayak (19).
After getting information, a police team arrived at the village and launched a probe Sunday morning. The body was seized and sent for autopsy to Talcher sub-divisional hospital while the two accused were arrested.
Though the incident took place Saturday night, the matter came to fore Sunday morning.
