Jajpur: A woman stopped her husband’s second marriage Saturday while their divorce case was still pending in a court in Jajpur district.
According to reports, the incident took place at Trinath Temple in Jarka under Dharmasala block, where Bibhudendra Padhi was reportedly preparing to marry another woman.
Sources said Bibhudendra had earlier married Suchismita Panda, daughter of Chakradhar Panda of Sundarpada in Bhubaneswar, November 24, 2017. The couple has an eight-year-old daughter.
The couple is currently involved in a divorce case that remains pending in court.
After learning about her husband’s reported plan to marry again, Suchismita reached the temple with her relatives and objected to the ceremony, bringing the marriage proceedings to a halt.
On being informed, police arrived at the spot and took Bibhudendra to the police station.
