Mumbai: Gorgeous actress Amrita Puri celebrates her birthday August 20. The actress, who shot to fame after featuring in Rajshree Ojha’s directed Aisha (2010), turns a year older today.
None of her family members are from film world. Her father was worried when she thought of venturing into Hindi film industry. However, Amrita made her father proud with her performance in her debut film Aisha (2010).
Today on the occasion of her birthday, let us tell you some interesting things related to the gorgeous beauty:
After finishing post graduation, Amrita started writing and doing theatre. For a year she did copywriting for an advertising agency. She also started auditioning for films and commercials. Soon she got Ad of Kotex. She then also advertised for other big companies including People First, Garnier and L’Oreal.
In 2015, Amrita Puri stepped into the TV world and worked in the series Stories by Rabindranath Tagore. In addition, she worked series P.O.W. – Bandi Yuddh Ke. Amrita has also worked in the web series Four More Shots Please and Made in Heaven.
Amrita Puri’s father Aditya Puri is the Managing Director of HDFC Bank. It took her two years to convince her father for films. In an interview, Amrita said “My father did not agree with my move. I had to work very hard. Two years later, he agreed. However when my first film was released my father was very keen and was proud of me.”
Amrita auditioned for several films before her debut. Then in 2012, her film Blood Money came out which was a flop. In 2013, Amrita got a big recognition in Hindi film with Kai Po Che! It was the first hit of her career. After this, Amrita appeared in Judgmentall Hai Kya (2019). Her upcoming film is 83.
On personal front, in the year 2017, Amrita married Mumbai-based restaurant owner Imrun Sethi. Earlier this year, there were reports that Amrita’s marriage was not going well. There was also talk of divorce.
