New Delhi: Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India, Thursday launched its much-awaited all-new 10th Generation Honda Civic 2019 for the Indian market in New Delhi.
The price of the Honda Civic 2019 starts from Rs 17.70 lakh (petrol), while the diesel version comes for Rs 20.50 lakh (ex-showroom price).
Presenting the new Honda Civic to customers, HCIL President and CEO Gaku Nakanishi said, “We are delighted to expand our product portfolio in India with the launch of the global best seller Honda Civic 2019. This is Honda’s 3rd new model introduction in FY19 and the launch of Honda Civic 2019 completes our premium sedan line-up in India.”
Nakanish added that the company received an overwhelming response during the pre-launch phase and expected that the new Civic Honda will revive the executive sedan segment in India.
The CEO claimed that the striking sporty design, powerful driving performance, advanced set of key technologies and innovations and upscale interior of the Honda Civic 2019 will deliver a new driving experience to customers.
HCIL SVP and Director (Sales and Marketing), Rajesh Goel highlighted the gathering about the new Honda Civic’s technology and additional facilities. Elaborating on the engine, he said, “The Honda Civic 2019 is powered by a 1.8-liter i-VTEC petrol engine mated to a highly advanced Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that offers very responsive driving performance and better fuel saving. Also, introduced with a diesel engine option in India for the first time, the new Honda Civic comes with the exciting 1.6L i-DTEC diesel turbo unit from Honda Earth Dreams Technology series mated to a 6-speed Manual Transmission, offering excellent driving performance and best in segment fuel efficiency of 26.8 km/l.”
Since safety is the primary concern for a driver, the company has left no stone unturned to provide a safe ride to its customers. Goel said, “The Honda Civic 2019 is designed to provide a high-level of collision performance in a wide variety of collision scenarios, including offset and full-lap frontal collisions, side and rear impacts. It has Advanced Compatibility Engineering body, 6 airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA), Honda LaneWatch – a first in segment lane watch camera for blind spot detection, are among other safety facilities.”
The Honda Civic is available in 5 variants such as V CVT, VX CVT and ZX CVT in petrol and VX MT and ZX MT in diesel. The vehicle is also available in five exterior colours – platinum white pearl, radiant red metallic, modern steel metallic, lunar silver metallic and golden brown metallic.
