Dhenkanal: Vigilance officials of Dhenkanal division Wednesday arrested the head clerk of Parjang block office red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1000.
The accused, Abhiram Seth, had allegedly demanded Rs 1000 from Parjang block office cashier, Nihar Ranjan Behera, to pass the latter’s salary arrears.
Nihar approached the anti-corruption officials in this connection following which Vigilance sleuths laid a trap to apprehend Seth. They also seized two currency notes of Rs 500 denomination each from his possession.
