Bhabanipatana: The district administration has launched an inquiry into allegations of misconduct against the headmaster of Government SSD School at Madanpur in Kalahandi district.

A school matron and two women cook-cum-atten dants of the school accused the headmaster, Shantanu Kumar Meher, of making casteist remarks and seeking inappropriate personal favours from them.

They have lodged their complaints before the district welfare officer (DWO) alleging that the HM made obscene gestures and inappropriate comments in the presence of students and threatened some staff members.

The women sought justice and disciplinary action against Meher.

Videos purportedly showing some of the alleged incidents have gone viral on social media, triggering widespread public outrage.

Following the complaints, DWO Janaki Ballabh Samantaray visited the school and launched an investigation.

He said the headmaster has been barred from entering the school campus pending the inquiry, and appropriate action will be taken after the investigation is completed.

Authorities have not yet commented on the authenticity of the viral videos or the specific findings of the ongoing probe.

The allegations against the headmaster, who holds a position of responsibility in the institution, have sparked widespread resentment.

The incident has also raised concerns over the safety and security of women employees in educational institutions.

Samantaray said a detailed inquiry report will be submitted to higher authorities shortly, following which appropriate disciplinary action will be initiated against the headmaster.

The case remains under investigation.
