Heavy rain forecast in 9 dists

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Department here has forecast heavy to very heavy rain in nine districts of the state in the next 24 hours. It has also forecast that most places over the southern and northern Odisha may also receive some rainfall.

While issuing the warning, the weather bulletin of the department for Monday said, “Heavy to very heavy with extremely heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Sambalpur, Boudh, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack districts in the state.
The department also forecas that heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over Kalahandi, Raygada, Gajapati, Angul, Kendrapada, Deogarh, Sonepur, Jharsuguda and Bargarh districts in the next 24 hours from 8:30am Monday.

Talking about the state capital, the Met department claimed that cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain/thundershowers are expected Monday, while the maximum and minimum temperatures are most likely to be around 32°C and 26°C respectively.

The department said that under the influence of cyclonic circulation a low pressure area is very likely to form over northwest Bay of Bengal and the neighbourhood during the next 24 hours which will result in heavy rainfall in the areas.

On the other hand, the department Sunday recorded the maximum of 35 degree Celsius temperature in Odisha at Gopalpur whole the lowest temperature was recorded Sunday at Titlagarh plains at 21 degree Celsius.
