High school students save Class I student from drowning

Korei:  The timely bravery of two high school boys gave a new lease of life to a minor boy who was saved from drowning Monday.

The Korei Nodal high school students Sheik Tosib, son of Sheik Kala Bau and Sohaib, son of Mohd Doud are the residents of Sadakpur village. Both showed immense courage and saved Abdul Ruman Khan (6), son of Abdul Nazam Khan. He is the resident of Phajalpur village and studies in Class-I in Sadakpur Primary School.

According to locals, after finishing Ganesh Puja celebrations at his school, the Class I boy on his way back home saw fishes in the nearby river. Fascinated, he stayed back to watch them play. However, he accidentally fell into the river and was drowning. Hearing his screams, the two boys who happened to pass by the way, jumped into the river without a second thought and rescued the little boy.

On being informed, headmaster Durga Madhab Mohanty of Sadakpur Primary School reached the spot and praised the courage of the duo. Locals have urged the administration to recommend their names for bravery awards.
