Bhubaneswar: Hockey Odisha lost to eventual champions Hockey Haryana 3-6 in the semifinals of the Hockey India 5-a-side Senior National Championship (combined men & women) in Kanpur, Thursday. Haryana then defeated Hockey Uttar Pradesh in the final. In the semifinal, Anu (first and third minutes) set the ball rolling for Hockey Haryana with two goals in the opening minutes of the match. Pardeep Mor (fourth) then extended the lead before Sushil Dhanwar (10th) and Albert Tete (13th) pulled two back for Odisha to make the scores 2-3. However, Pardeep (14th) and skipper Mandeep Antil (17th and 18th) scored three goals to dash Hockey Odisha hopes. Prasad Kujur (18th) scored the consolation goal for the losing team.
