HSC supplementary from June 22

Cuttack: As an atmosphere of joy enveloped the state after declaration of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Matric examinations, many students are in distress over their poor results as well. They however, have reason to smile. BSE president Dr. Jahan Ara Begum has said the High School Certificate (HSC) supplementary examination will begin onJune 22.

She said those who cleared the supplementary examination can take admission in Plus II streams in the current academic session itself. The students have to fill up forms between May 25 and May 31.

As per the results, 36 high schools had NIL results in the annual HSC examination, 2018. While 22 high schools had nil results last year, the rise in the number of NILs is a matter of concern. Meanwhile, the School and Mass Education department has said it would issue show-cause notices to 36 high schools with nil results in the annual HSC.

“Since the teachers of these schools are squarely responsible for the dismal performance, the department will take action against them,” said department secretary Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra.
