Huge amount of ganja seized in Malkangiri

Chitrakonda: Police seized Sunday night huge amount of cannabis while raiding parts of the Dyke-3 forest here in Malkangiri district. The ganja was stored in 132 sacks, officials said Monday. However, police failed to arrest the persons involved in smuggling of the contraband item as they had escaped from the place earlier. IIC of Chitrakonda police station, Mukunda Melaka said that the total amount of ganja seized is worth rupees three crore. He added that police have launched an investigation to find out the identity of the criminals and arrest them. He added residents of local villages are being interrogated to find out the identity of the culprits.
