Human skeleton recovered near Mahanadi River in Boudh, read chilling details

Boudh: A human skeleton was recovered from the banks of Mahanadi River in Boudh district Wednesday.

Police said that some residents of the nearby area spotted the human skeleton while they had gone near the river bank for bathing purposes on the river bank and informed the local police about it.

On being informed Boudh police recovered the human skeleton, which was half-charred, surrounded with crows under an under constructed bridge near the bank of Mahanadi River.

The skeletons have been sent to the Boudh district headquarters hospital for postmortem.

From the preliminary circumstances under which the skeleton was washed away revealed that the body remained half-burnt during cremation and subsequently was swept away in the strong current of the water, informed Boudh Police Station IIB Tapaswini Kahanr.

However, the real reason behind the incident will be revealed after gender determination and forensic tests, added Kahanr.
