Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) incurred both laughter and anger of fans after its social media handle played a hilarious April Fool’s prank on Twitter.
The cricketing world’s chief governing body tweeted a list which looked like an official press release highlighting the new ‘rule changes’ in the sport.

“As part of our efforts to make the game more appealing to younger generations, the ICC will be applying both numbers and Instagram handles to kits from the beginning of the World Test Championship,” the first tweet read.
Inconspicuous fans waking up from their slumber were left dazed and confused before the ICC handle released another tweet reading: “In further changes ahead of the World Test Championship, the tradition of the coin toss will be replaced by a @Twitter poll, allowing fans at home to decide who bats and bowls!”
In further changes, Test players will apparently be allowed to wear shorts if temperatures during a game reach 35 degrees celsius.
In addition to the ones stated above, the ICC released five more tweets detailing the other changes to the game of cricket.
