Khordha: Despite clear instructions from the State Transport Authority (STA) to curb vehicles fitted with illegal DJ sound systems and hazardous lighting arrangements, they continue to operate openly in several districts of the state, raising concerns over enforcement.
Highlighting the continued violation of the regulations, human rights activist Jayanta Kumar Das has submitted a complaint to Amitabh Thakur, State Transport Commissioner and Chairman of the State Transport Authority. He has demanded strict action against vehicle owners violating the rules and departmental inquiries against Regional Transport Officers (RTOs) for alleged negligence in enforcing the directives.
