Bhubaneswar: Institute of Life Sciences (ILS) inaugurated an international conference titled EVOLVE 2026 Friday, bringing together leading scientists from the country and across the globe to explore cutting-edge advances in novel therapeutics.
Organised under the aegis of the Indian Society for Extracellular Vesicles (InSEV), the conference focused on the growing significance of extracellular vehicles (EVs)—tiny membrane-bound particles released by cells that play a vital role in intercellular communication by transporting proteins, lipids, and genetic material throughout the body.
The three-day event drew 180 participants from 62 institutions across the country, along with researchers from France, Germany, Sweden, the UAE, and the United States.
Discussions centred on the diverse applications of EVs in diagnosing and treating a wide range of diseases, including infectious conditions caused by bacteria and viruses, as well as non-communicable diseases.
