IMFL shop set afire in Joda

Joda: Properties over Rs 1 crore was stolen and burnt after miscreants set a foreign liquor shop on fire after stealing liquor from the shop at Cinema Hall Square in Joda town of Keonjhar district late Monday night. Reports said 80 per cent of the liquors stored in the shop has been burnt. Joda police launched an investigation after shop owner Santosh Kumar Gupta lodged a written complaint.

Sources said over 600 cartons of liquor were stolen while the computer hard disk and other goods reduced to cinders. The miscreants after stealing the liquor set ablaze the cartons stored in the godowns. The matter came to the fore when the employees came to open the shop Tuesday morning and found smoke billowing out of the shop. They informed the fire personnel who reached the spot and doused the fire after struggling for over an hour.
