Bhubaneswar, May 26: Ashima Kanchan scored four goals as Hockey Orissa completely outplayed Hockey Karnataka 10-1 in a match of the Vth Hockey India sub-junior Women national championships (Division-A) at Ranchi, Tuesday.
Elima Minz opened the scoring for Orissa in the seventh minute and quickly doubled her tally in the 12th minute of the game, to leave the opponents stunned. Continuing the goal spree, Ashima Kanchan joined the scoring sheet when she added the third in the 20th minute and followed it up with her second in the 33rd minute. Prior to that goal, Karnataka had pulled one back in the 27th minute through SR Abhinashree to leave the score 4-1 at half time.
The second half saw a dominant display by the Orissa eves who pumped in six more goals. Ashima added two more to her tally to complete her hat-trick as she regaled the motley crowd with some dazzling stickwork. It was her brilliant display that facilitated an emphatic win.
