In this temple, Lord Hanuman has been taking bath with milk for 500 years

Dudhadhari Matha is one of the most popular temples of Raipur. It bought its name from a sage, named Balabhadra Das who survived on milk.

The name of the temple ‘Dudhadhari Temple’ has been made from a wise man, named Balabhadra Das. It is considered that a cow called `Surhi ‘would bathe the idol with the milk.

Mahant Shri Balbhadra built this Math however the period of his Raipur stay is still not clear. It is said that Shri Balbhadra was eminently concerned to Lord Hanuman.

It is said that it was established by king Raghu Rao Bhosle , the ruler, during 1610 AD. The eminent Dudhadhari Matha or temple got its name from its real founder Balbhadra Mahant who was treated as a Dudha Ahari, means person who consumes only milk as food.

The best time to visit at Dudhadhari Temple is from the months of October to March. However, visitors or pilgrims can also visit at Dudhadhari Matha or temple during all Hindu religious festivals.
