Inclusive Job Fair attracts 17K aspirants

Bhubaneswar:  An inclusive Job Fair was jointly organized by State Employment Exchange, District Employment Exchange of Employment Directorate Orissa, Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD), Govt. of Orissa, and National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled (NCSCDA), Government of India, hereThursday. About  35 pan India companies such as TATA Motors, HDFC Bank, TATA, etc participated in the fair held at NCSCDA, Gandamunda, Bhubaneswar.

The salaries offered by the companies ranged from Rs 6000 to Rs 50,000 per month. Qualification of job seekers also varied from Class VIII to post graduate. About 17,000 job seekers from National Career Service Portal, Employment Exchanges, skilled candidates trained by Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) of Odisha Skill Development Authority, and some freshers from local colleges and universities attended the fair.

Prafulla Samal, Minister SSEPD, appealed to the corporate world to employ more and more Persons With Disabilities (PwDs) and assured  that the government would extend all possible support and facilitate to employers to boost job placement drive.

Niten Chandra, Principal Secretary SSEPD Dept, said that all job fairs at district and block level should be inclusive job fairs to provide equal opportunities to each and every job seeker.
