Income limit raised for skill training of SCs

Bhubaneswar: The state government has enhanced the annual income limit fixed for selection of SC youths under Special Central Assistance (SCA) to Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP) area.
The ST & SC Development Department has increased the maximum annual income limit from Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 per annum for rural areas and from Rs 50,000 to Rs 60,000 per annum for urban areas for selection of SC youths for skill development training under SCA to SCSP, official sources said here Wednesday.

The government has taken this decision as the interested SC youths are facing difficulties in obtaining the income certificate below the limit fixed earlier, the sources said.

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment is providing 100 per cent grant under the scheme and Orissa SC & ST Development Finance Cooperative Corporation (OSFDC) conducts skill development training for the SC beneficiary.
