Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is scheduled to hoist the National Flag and take the salute at the state-level Independence Day celebrations in Bhubaneswar August 15.
According to the official programme announced by the state government, while Majhi will address the Independence Day gathering here Saturday, Deputy Chief Ministers – K V Singh Deo and Pravati Parida – will hoist the tricolour in Kalahandi and Sundargada respectively.
All the ministers are assigned the privilege in different districts. Revenue and Disaster Management minister Suresh Pujari will attend the programme in Kataka while Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water minister Rabi Narayan Naik has been assigned the responsibility in Angola.
School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond will attend the programme in Malkangiri, Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister K C Patra in Sambalpur, Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan in Ganjam, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling in Rayagada, Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena in Kandhamala and Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra in Khordha.
Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister Ganesh Ram Singhkhuntia will attend the Independence Day programme in Puri, while Higher Education, Sports and Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Cooperation Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta, Fisheries and Animal Resources Minister Gokulananda Mallik and Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain have been assigned to Balangir, Baleshwar, Gajapati and Koraput, respectively.
In other districts, officers will hoist the Tricolour. The RDC (Central Division) will attend the programme in Jagatsinghpur, while the RDC (Southern Division) will attend in Brahmapur.
Collectors have been assigned to lead the celebrations in Bargada, Bhadrak, Boudh, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kendrapada, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Nabarangpur, Nayagada, Nuapada and Subarnapur.
The Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Raurkela, will attend the Independence Day programme in the steel city of Raurkela.
