Indian bowlers restrict Australia to 236 for 7

Mohammed Shami was the best bowler for India

Hyderabad: Hosts India restricted Australia to a modest total of 236 for seven in 50 overs in the first ODI of the five-game series here Saturday. The visitors after opting to bat kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and hence never had the momentum going for them. Usman Khawaja (50) and Glenn Maxwell were the only two batsmen to make useful contributions. Pacer Mohammed  Shami (2/44) was the best bowler for India while Jasprit Bumrah (2/60) and chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav (2/46) supported him well. The other wicket was picked up by Kedar Jadhav (1/31).
