Bhubaneswar: Partha Samal (38 n o, 5/11) starred with both bat and ball as Infosys hammered IMMT by 108 runs in the opening match of the E-League Challenger series at the IMMT ground here, Sunday.
Put into bat first, Infosys put up a huge total of 174/4 in their stipulated 20 overs, thanks to Rajesh Pani’s (50) brilliant half century. Rajesh Nayak (42) also played a good hand along with Partha to see his side cross the 150-run mark. For IMMT, Biranchi Parida (2/24) was the pick of the bowlers.
In reply, IMMT were never on the chase. They kept on loosing wickets at regular intervals to be eventually bundled out for a paltry 66 in 15.5 overs. Bikram Parida (24) was the only notable scorer for IMMT. Apart from Partha, Amaresh Nayak (2/7) also bowled well.
Brief score: Infosys 174/4 (Rajesh Pani 50, Rajesh Nayak 42; Biranchi Parida 2/24) beat IMMT 66 all out (Bikram Parida 24; Partha Samal 5/11) by 108 runs.
