According to a media report, Lee, who works at a restaurant. He received a gift coupon of 20 yuan (i.e. Rs 230) from his friend. With this coupon, he went to a salon for a haircut. However, when Lee arrived at the salon, the staff told him that he would be given a head massage first. After this, Lee was fitted with a face mask, which was said to cost Rs 500.
The salon then asked Lee to buy a gift card worth 5,000 yuan (Rs 58,000) so that he could get a bigger discount. The hairstylist had removed Lee’s glasses during this time. Because of this, he could not see the rate list.
The hairstylist used a variety of products on Lee, who had just gone for a haircut. When Salon handed over the bill to Lee after things like massages and facials, Lee was shocked because the bill was in lakhs. Lee had a gift coupon for only Rs 230. Lee said he didn’t have the money, but salon staff didn’t pay ahead and pressured him. When they did not agree, he took a loan of ¥57,000 from the credit app and paid the bill.
