Kataka: Senior IPS officer Vinaytosh Mishra Sunday took additional charge as the interim Director General of Police (DGP) of Odisha from outgoing DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania at the State Police Headquarters in Kataka.
Mishra is currently serving as the Director General of Police, Crime Branch.
Speaking to the media, Mishra thanked the state government for entrusting him with the responsibility and said ensuring public safety and serving the people would remain his top priorities.
He said women’s safety, combating organised crime, building a drug-free Odisha and tackling cybercrime would be among his key focus areas.
He further said that with the festive season approaching, around 60,000 police personnel would coordinate with district administrations to maintain peace, security and law and order across the state.
