IPL 2019 player auction to be held in Jaipur December 18

New Delhi: The player auction ahead of Indian Premiere League (IPL) 2019 will be held in Jaipur December 18, BCCI announce Monday.

While the auction will be a one-day affair, 50 Indian and 20 overseas players are up for grab with eight teams left with a total purse of Rs 145.25 crore.

Ahead of the auction, few teams announced their retentions while releasing big names last month.

KXIP and Delhi Daredevils let go Yuvraj Singh and Gautam Gambhir respectively.

Similarly Rajasthan Royals released Jaydev Unadkat after paying Rs 11.5 crore. Likewise Sunrisers Hyderabad released injured Wriddhiman Shah and West Indies T20 captain Carlos Brathwaite.

The same time, Mumbai Indians dumped JP Duminy, fast bowling duo Pat Cummins and Bangladesh’s Mustafizur Rahman.

The event is not only bringing the ‘titans of the turf’ clashing to prove their worth; the date slated, is already taking ‘2019 general elections’ by the horns. Talks are thus on the table for taking the event to foreign grounds, either partially or completely.
