Iran embassy staffer moves Rayagada court

Rayagada: An Iran embassy representative Saturday moved the SDJM court here in connection with a case filed against Astari K Nargis, an Iran national and the head of Prison Foundation, an Iran-based NGO having an office at Mukundpur under Kolnara block of the district.

According to details, Peter Kilakara, the warden of the NGO, brought 26 of its inmates to show them the famous hanging bridge near Rayagada town November 3, 2014.
In a tragic incident, Peter’s five-year old daughter Sima fell off the bridge and got swept away in the current of river Nagabali.

Holding Nargis responsible, Peter lodged a written complaint against her with local police station the same day. Police registered a case after an investigation and the matter is sub-judice in the court.

On the other hand, Nargis has been asked not to leave the country till the case is heard. On being received a request from her, the Iran government asked the embassy to follow up the matter. Embassy counsellor General Haasan Naureen along with a lawyer moved the court seeking an immediate hearing of the case and a permission to allow Nargis to leave for her homeland. PNN
