Ishant Sharma becomes first Indian bowler to take wicket with pink ball

Kolkata: India host Bangladesh in the hugely anticipated pink ball Test at the Eden Gardens here, Friday.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. The pink ball, which reportedly favours pace bowlers, remained true to its nature as Indian seamer Ishant Sharma took the wicket of Bangladesh opener Imrul Kayes after catching him leg before wicket in the seventh over of the first innings.

In doing so, Sharma went down the annals of India’s cricketing history as the first bowler to take a wicket with the pink ball.
