Rayagada, April 30: A person who is suspected to be involved in Tikiri shikhya sahayika Itishree Pradhan immolation case has allegedly threatened to kill four reports posted at Tikiri for publishing reports on involvement of him and his family members in the case.
This person and his four brothers are suspected to be involved in the case. The CBI officials have already interrogated some of them several times.
The agency has got credible evidence to prove their involvement in the case and is trying to gather some more proof before arresting them.
As reports regarding the involvement of this person and his brothers in the incident are being published regularly by media for last few days, the person who is working in a private company has developed apprehension that he may be arrested soon by the investigating agency.
Enraged over publication of such reports, he issued threats to four reporters associated with different media houses. These reporters are likely to lodge a complaint with Tikiri police regarding the matter Friday.
Meanwhile, a CBI official claimed that the person who has issued threats to reporters and a woman who had recorded statements on behalf of Itishree at four places are considered to be the main culprits behind the incident. He also hinted that these persons will be arrested and taken to Tihar jail for interrogation in order to find out truth in the case.
On the other hand, CBI inspector R K Joshi quizzed a bus owner and Netrananda Dandasena’s nephew Maheswar Nayak late Wednesday night for around 2 hours. However, Nayak told the official that he did not know anything about the incident.
He confessed that he had gone to the jail to meet Netrananda but clarified that it was only a courtesy call.
