Its Sudhir’s wealth vs Krushnachandra’s education

Dhenkanal: After the declaration of final list of candidates, the process of electioneering has gathered momentum in Dhenkanal Assembly constituency.

Candidates from the three major political parties – the ruling BJD, BJP and Congress party, have geared up their election campaign in this area. This time, the BJP has fielded Krushnachandra Patra, while the BJD has nominated Sudhir Kumar Samal and Congress has fielded Nabin Nanda for the Dhenkanal Assembly seat.

Notably, all of the three are stalwarts of their respective political parties and were elected MLAs in the past days. As a result, the Dhenkanal Assembly seat, which is considered to be the power centre of the district, has now become a prestige issue for all the candidates.

Political analysts have opined that there will be a stiff fight between the three major political parties for this prestigious Assembly seat. Similarly, many interesting facts are coming to the limelight after the filing of nominations. It is learnt that Sudhir Kumar Samal is ahead of the other contenders in possessing assets and Krushnachandra Patra is ahead of others in terms of educational qualifications.

The total declared value of immovable properties of the 55-year-old BJD candidate is about Rs 2,49,90,806 and the total value of his movable property is about Rs 5,61,52,582. Similarly, the total declared value of immovable properties of his wife is about Rs 3,97,56,243 and the total value of her movable property is to the tune of Rs 1,45,06,666. Apart from these, he also possesses a four-wheeler worth Rs 1,01,20,000.

Sudhir had appeared for the matriculation examination from Khadagaprasad High School in Odapada block, but did not pass the examination, as revealed in the affidavit sworn by him.

The total value of immovable properties of Krushnachandra Patra is about Rs 20,92,234 and the total valuation of his movable property is about Rs 62,00,000. Similarly, the total value of immovable property of his wife is about Rs 6,83,465 and the total valuation of her movable property is about Rs 45,00,000. Apart from these, he also possesses a four-wheeler worth Rs 7,00,000.

Krushnachandra completied his M.Sc. from Ravenshaw University and then got a Degree in Law from the Madhusudan Law College, Cuttack, in 1988.

 

Similarly, the total value of immovable property of the 60-year-old Nabin Nanda is about Rs 58,79,754 and the total value of his movable property is about Rs 47,00,000. The total valuation of immovable property of his wife is about Rs 35,56,559.

 

He is a graduate and has passed the +3 examination from Dhenkanal College in 1978, as revealed in the affidavit sworn by him.
