Jharsuguda Tehsil office staff held for taking bribe

Jharsuguda: Odisha vigilance officials Thursday arrested an employee of Jharsuguda Tehsil office for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000.

The accused has been identified as Kabicharan Nayak, a data entry operator.

According to reports, Nayak had demanded money from Basudev Mahananda to rectify his land ‘Patta’ following which the latter informed the anti-corruption sleuths.

The vigilance officials arrested when Nayak received money from Basudev at the Tehsil office.

He was later forwarded to court, said Dillip Kar, DSP (Vigilance).
