Jumbos damage crops in Sorada block

Sorada, May 10: A herd of elephants has created a reign of terror in several areas under the block in Ganjam district and damaged acres of crops.
The seven elephants have damaged a 10-acre mango orchard of Dandapani Khadanga of Gopalpur Shashan. The tuskers have been staying in the orchard for last three days. The herd has been damaging crops in the block for the last one year. Three persons have also lost their lives in elephant attack
during this period.
Forest ranger Kirankant Sahu said forest department has been driving away the tuskers every time they enter into human habitation but they keep coming back. He added the department has chalked out a plan to solve this problem.
